I am after some advice...

We are looking to purchase a new wireless presenter for use in an assembly hall. The distance from the computer to the lectern is approximately 18m (it's not possible to bring the two closer).

Up till now we have been using the Logitech Wireless Presenter R400, which admittedly states that a range of 10m or 15m (depending on whether you're looking at the features or specifications page). The device generally works OK, but at times staff complain that it freezes. It's not a battery issue. I am unable to replicate the problem in an empty hall, which leads me to believe it could be caused by interference on the 2.4 GHz band when the hall is full of students and staff with mobile devices (they would be sat/stood in between the computer and lectern).

We are looking to purchase a new wireless presenter which is able to operate over a longer distance. The two I have come across are as follows:

Logitech Professional Presenter R700

Kensington Presenter Expert

The R700 states a range of 30m, and the Presenter Expert 50m. However I note that both operate on the 2.4 GHz band.

Does anyone have any experience of either device (or an alternative) in a similar environment to ours? Any advice would be greatly appreciated!

We have the R700, our hall is 45 metres x 30 metres, and our R700's operate in excess of 40 metres from the laptop.

Hope this helps,

Paul
