APMerry Posted May 5, 2015 Posted May 5, 2015 Has anyone been asked to use this in classrooms? I've got a few teachers that want to open files that use Blackboard Collaborate Launcher but it installs into the users folder on the C: drive and only works for the user who installed it (me). I cant find a way to change the install location, ideally want it in program files. Anyone experienced this? Thanks!
kennysarmy Posted February 23, 2016 Posted February 23, 2016 Just been asked to install this at the last minute for a teacher who wanted to do some training session after school! I logged on to her PC to test it and then of course it failed when she tried as the blackboard collaborate software installed to C:\users. I just moved the folder to a shared drive and then when she logged in and tried to open the link we could browse to the executable.... However that just then caused the next issue....
free780 Posted February 23, 2016 Posted February 23, 2016 Probably uses Java. Did you run admin when you installed it?
mrnoisy Posted February 23, 2016 Posted February 23, 2016 It's a pig to get going, there's a load of ports and addresses that need to be unblocked too, there's some details on their tech knowledge base

stjtech Posted April 27, 2017 Posted April 27, 2017 Hi, Has anyone managed to get the Launcher software to work for all users without giving a user rights to install the software ? I have looked at their support pages but it's a nightmare and you end up going round in circles. Thanks Steve
