We also ended our subscription to Micro Librarian and migrated it over to https://koha-community.org/. It's opensource and requires Linux skills to set up and our librarian finds it much easier to use. Only downside is the manual import/deletion of new students as there is no AD or MIS automation.

Hi, I have applied the fixed proxy through Chrome GPO but this disables the Chrome option for staff whilst at home to changing the proxy for home use. Changing the IE options has no effect on Chrome now. Thanks Steve

Are the roaming user profiles remaining locked until you restart the computer ? Had a similar problem a few years ago where the ATI Catalyst process would not release the ntuser.dat file and therefore locked the local cached copy and sent a currupt version back to the server when a user logged out. We ended up using a lower version of the ATI graphics driver that did not use the catalyst centre.

You should be able to get them through New & Refurbished Hardware - servers, options, switches, routers, PCs & laptops but we used a local trader NE IT Solutions - Computer Service, Maintenance and Installations in the North East to get them on our behalf as they would not accept purchase order payments.

We had this problem a year ago. We found that the ATI Catalyst Centre was the problem. When a user logged off a process belonging to the Catalyst Centre would not allow the workstation to copy the profile back to the server fully. It then corrupted the server version and left a locked copy on the workstation. The only way to remove the corrupt version on the workstation required a restart to release it from the process. We ended up using a previous version of an ATI video driver without the Catalyst Centre.

Hi, We have implemented RADIUS (IAS) with PEAP on our wireless network. It works fine for domain user accounts and when we log into a laptop as a local user account we can connect to the school network and browse. The only problem is that the laptop continuously attempts to authenticate the local user with IAS and fails as it is not a domain user. I have set the Computer Authentication in the IEE 802.1.x settings as "Computer Only" and this removes the problem. Anyone know if there is a way to use "With user re-authentication" and to stop the continuous local user and IAS authentication taking place as we wish to use computer and account authentication ?. Thanks, sticking with a mapped drive appears to work with some sample users. One problem, the users can gain access to the data via the mapped drive as they have NTFS read/write security rights. The hidden UNC in the application seemed more ideal for this purpose. I also find it a bit strange that the users can change their names and user ID as well as their password. Anyone found a quick way to delete a pupil in the application rather than searching the XML files that are named user1 to userx ?.

I am having the same sort of problems. We have the application installed on each XP desktop and the assessment data within a shared folder on our SAN. We have set the data path to "\\STJ3\ICT4Life". Staff and students have modify rights to this folder and subfolders. Although the data path is not using mapped drive users can gain access. Does it have to be a mapped drive in this configuration ?. Most users can log in no problem but on occasions it tells the user that their username and password are wrong, and then the next day they can log in no problem. We are also getting an error when students attempt to submit work saying that they can not as they do not belong to a Teaching Group when I know they do. I can see them in groups as the administrator and teachers can view their pupils. I have contacted the telephone number in the booklet and they seem more concerned with selling software. I was told they had no telephone contact with their support department and I could only send an email to the address in the booklet. I have sent several emails to this address and appear that they ignore them. Anyone got any ideas please?.
