Hello,

A few of our SIMS clients aren't connecting as expected. When SIMS is run under standard user privileges, the login works but takes approximately 15 mins to complete. However, if I run SIMS as an administrator, the login is almost instantaneous (even using the same SIMS creds). It can't be the firewall as we have Windows Firewall disabled on all of our clients (we have an external one to the WAN). I am certain that the problem is client-side because SIMS works properly on some clients, not others. We are experiencing issues with FMS and Discover client software on the same machines.

Any help is much appreciated,

Roger

The standard user profiles on the affected machines - can you delete them and try again? It may be that something is hanging around in those profiles that's causing the issue (would explain why it's fine for the admin user). Sorry, I'm clutching at straws a little - it's quite a random issue that I've not seen before!

Have you run the most recent SQL update as we are experiencing the same problem in one of our schools. This wasn't a problem before the SQL update ?

We are making further investigations tomorrow. If we find something I will let you know. I am convinced however it has something to do with the SQL data base not the clients
