@willtech To be honest this will just be one of many. The panel market has been a race to the bottom for a while. The only company who seem to value there product is SMart but with Education budgets shrinking most schools wont pay £2.5k for a 65" panel from Smart when you can buy a Promethean LE for £1k and its just as good.

@Steven_Cleaver Let us know how you get on. Test with a laptop first and if it works you know its not the panel. Also if you can have issues if using a video splitter etc too as it will try to push the monitor image to the panel so the calibration will never be right. Finally if your getting issues with it saying no source but they are connected and it shows the HDMI for example, you may need to lower the resolution setting on the device to 30Hz from 60 Etc. @Steven_Cleaver Are you using Desktop or Laptop as I have never had and issue with Laptops. If desktop might be worth swapping out the monitor for a 23" 16:9 or 16:10 and see if that makes a difference. Also some older Desktops cannot support the correct panel resolution due to the age of the graphics card

@Steven_Cleaver Ok for those that don't know Window 11 is specific about what resolution setting you can use. Some older panels just will not work properly with Windows 11. Laptops seem to be fine. Desktop however massive issue. Often you need to re install the Graphics drivers from Intel. Also many older monitors will not support the resolution correctly with Windows 11 when using panels. Thus to make the image on the panel fit you end us fudging the resolution setting on the PC. Then you find the touch isn't accurate on the panel. Modern panels you shouldn't have to calibrate at all

@Andycat it is unlikely that you will receive any funding for this next year then, unless they change the funding formula

@RedwayNetworks_Michael I have been on the DFE webinars. They didn't say CTC was finished. Unless I miss understood. This years funding is closed and all school have been notified and all orders must be invoiced in by Feb 2026 There will be a new round of funding for 2026/27 however they haven't confirmed the amount. The funding will again be allocated to schools who are seen a RISE schools. This means you can have schools next to each other with one getting funding and the other not. If your school hasn't been notified. @Andycat If you are not a RISE school or hasn't been notified then you currently wont qualify. You can try emailing the DFE CTC mail box and asking

@primarynetman. This hap hazard approach isn't working that the issue. They would be best going area by area. Basically be a crap school get funding while the well managed school next door gets nothing

There will be more rounds to come. Issue is the funding they offer per school isn't the same of Wave 3, 4 or 5. The are fixing the budget so you have to match the solution to it. This isn't as easy as it sounds, as to met the standards they have set you really do have to think on your feet with the solution

The DFE did say if you can justify your solution i.e not using cat6A (if you are using some existing data and adding some new) - Cost of Fibre is huge so reducing to 8 Core from 16. Or show that if AP's can be managed through a portal with out a licence (Thinking Aruba Instant). Then they may consider and accept. However they did say they felt that the budget each school has received was sufficient to provide a solution that meets there standard

I have been liaising with the DFE. The actual issue now is Solution over Budget. The DFE have a very precise vision on what work needs to take place. Actual issue is the Budget schools are receiving don't always match the solution proposed or the to make the solution fit the budget you don't meet all there requirements. You may find you have to dumb down your solutions to an entry level Wifi and Switching to match the budget

Latency is caused by the device driving the panel and the sensors on the panel This is what made some panels better than others. If your panels use IR sensors there will always be a lag over bubble glass which works like a smart phone

Take down the AP and plug in directly to the Switch and one that has a POE port. If still red then its a fault
