Griff Posted April 28, 2015 Posted April 28, 2015 I cannot reset certain users passwords...well I am resetting them but they just do not work am I missing something here? Am I an idiot? I cannot believe I am having to log calls with Capita asking to help me reset passwords its soul destroying and classically I still haven't had a call back So login to SLG as myself (admin) find the user a teacher reset their password give them their password and login name it doesn't work...yes reset cookies tried different browsers computers you name it just does not like it! This has happened on about 4/5 teachers this week get it almost monthly. Is there another way ? I have re-provisioned one user and still getting the same issue even tried the password that gets generated in the ADP report I am so DONE with SLG its such a headache

Sylv3r Posted April 28, 2015 Posted April 28, 2015 Are you hosted or self hosted? We are self hosted and we just reset the passwords in AD.

Bill8 Posted April 30, 2015 Posted April 30, 2015 Reading the reply from Sylv3r could you not ask whomever is hosting you to reset the passwords via AD? On a similar thread, but a little different, we're self hosted and I reprovisioned a member of staff last week but the ADP report STILL hasn't given a new password!

Yeah this is the same sort of stuff for me @Bill8 re-provision and nothing shows in that report....I left it a few days and reset their passwords on SLG itself and I can now get the users on. Its just so infuriating sometimes
vikpaw Posted April 30, 2015 Posted April 30, 2015 How often does the actual provisioning routine run? Isn't it a scheduled task or something that you can configure to run more frequently? I guess not if hosted.
Griff Posted April 30, 2015 Author Posted April 30, 2015 How often does the actual provisioning routine run? Isn't it a scheduled task or something that you can configure to run more frequently? I guess not if hosted. Good thinking I checked and it runs overnight bud, I ran it manually the last few times when re-provisioning users. I am encouraging the use of our remote so people are now just using full SIMS from home suits me maybe ween them off SLG and ditch it save some dollar.
rad Posted April 30, 2015 Posted April 30, 2015 You can't reset a password to something it has been before, I now go for the easy option, monthyear so April2015 complies with capital, lowercase, number.
