Outsourced IT Techician Companies?

Morning All,

 

(Apologies in advance to mods as couldn't really find a better forum for this, but this isn't exactly a job)

 

But does anyone know of any companies (South West) that can supply outsourced IT technicians full-time all year etc? Just looking about alternatives to an inhouse tech after limited respones to a job advert.

One company I know that supports schools in that area is European Electronique, They may do what you are looking for.

One of our schools here has fully managed services from EE. They're okay and they do supply full-time techs.

 

Only niggle is that the school doesn't have a whole lot of control over the service, and response times to issues can vary greatly.

EE are based at in Oxford, so might be able to help you. They usually offered a managed service which includes an engineer and a service level as well ( supported by other engineers) but you might be able to get a long term secondment or similar.

If you're in the South West, you'd be crazy NOT to speak to iCT4 - iCT4 - IT Support in Cornwall

 

We use these guys and they are genuinely the best thing we ever did - the service is just superb.

 

No commercial link to them...but I can't speak highly enough of them!

I have been working via agencies for most of the last year and I have heard this from most schools I have been in. For some reason they get very little response (or very little quality) from job adverts - they then contacted an agency and got several different cvs from people who would be ideal. Why these people didn't see the original job advert is a mystery to them in most cases

 

You may be better off asking the normal teaching agencies (e.g. Capita, Hays etc) if they have any contract technicians. This may work out easier and cheaper that going through a company. Also , you would be free to employ them after a while if they are good - or ditech them if they are rubbish.

This is in fact how I got my current permanent job so everyone is happy.

Thank you all for the replies so far So will have a look into all those companies.

 

Aye surprised with the amount of people looking for work that you don't get hundreds of applications haha But guess when you cut out those who aren't actively looking, and those who don't want school/skill sets etc.

Currently in talks with a few companies about getting someone in, but they're mainly being pretty useless too Don't seem to understand "on-site all week" and "not paying £30-40k for 1st line tech" haha
