Pearson VLE Content displaying terribly

No, I didn't buy it.

 

Moodle 2.8,

AQA GCSE French ActiveTeach Foundation Introduction

 

I can get the thing up there (but I haven't worked out yet if I can unpack and rebundle the chapters into one SCORM package so they don't have to go out of one and into the other when changing chapter).....

 

but my choices seem to be:

 

1) show the (flash based) package in a really small window embedded in the page

2) show it in a new (pop-up) window that cuts the last inch off the bottom of the page where all the navigation is.

 

Has anyone got a fix that doesn't involve editing all the packages manually. I have other packages (not from Pearson) that work sensibly.

I always set the height of embedded SCORM content in Moodle to 900, width at default. Fixes most display issues. Are you sure the packaged chapters aren't available together on the install disc, further down the list of content?

Setting it to 900 fixed the display error, cheers.

 

Pretty sure - the "VLE" folder on the disk has a Readme.txt with a code that points you to vlepacks.pearson.com, which has 1.5GB in 40 or so individual zip files, terribly slow download speeds and a "you can only download one file at once" restriction on the webserver.

Ah yeah, I've had to do those ones. I really did just install all 40, one by one. Sorry, can't help with that bit!

Yeah, ended up doing the same.

 

I am now idly wondering which of our "basically webapps" terrible software I can SCORM-ify and imprison in Moodle so it's available for kids on the BYOD network.
