J03 Posted April 22, 2015 Posted April 22, 2015 Hi Everyone! I have just been down and found that our badge printer has a "unacceptable" defect on printing, I have found that the head has a small dent in it causing a line to be printed on every card, I don't think it can be repaired. We currently have a Magicard Enduro but does anyone have any suggestions (or recommendations) as to which card printer we should look at getting? It needs to be able to automatically duplex the cards. Thanks in advance
googlemad Posted April 22, 2015 Posted April 22, 2015 You should be able to get a new head for about £300-£400, it isn't rocket science to swap out (even I can manage it!)
LesarUK- Posted April 22, 2015 Posted April 22, 2015 (edited) Hi J03, It seems you have a print head failure, you can either replace the print head or purchase a new card printer. If you wanted to keep the duplex feature you would need to stick to a Magicard printer as it's only the Magicard range that offer that particular feature however some other brands do allow you to modify the varnish overlay which gives you that hologram effect.. Hope this helps, Thanks Kieran Edited April 22, 2015 by elsiegee40
TomFreeman Posted April 23, 2015 Posted April 23, 2015 Hi we purchased an Evolis Primacy badge printer just over a year ago now and we're quite happy with it, it doesn't do duplex straight out the box, but you can by a little software key which goes inside that activates the duplex function.
localzuk Posted April 23, 2015 Posted April 23, 2015 I've been running the Evolis Primacy here also and its been pretty darn good. Reliable and quick. Quality is pretty good. Duplex is available for it (although we don't have any need for it here). We got ours through http://www.smartcardstore.co.uk.
