Ahh - really? Didn't even look at that.

I'm in school till 3.15 demonstrating the horns - could go after that I suppose. Can I be bothered to drive across town at that time of day though?

If you can get yourself to me I'm happy to drive.:)

@Oaktech

I don't think so - one school wouldn't let me (I presume, as they wouldn't let me go to BETT) and the other has loads of issues due to a complete new IT suite, new server, new netbooks etc so I can't spare the time.

Not to mention the fact that I just borked the screen on a brand new Fujitsu laptop :(

Hi @witch

What netbook replacements did you go for in the end?

Hi @witch

Lenovo Yoga to have the functionality of a laptop and the convenience of a touchscreen tablet.

Well it would be convenient IF there were any touchscreen drivers for windows 7

Which there aren't so we have to have windows 8

Nice bit of kit though

Hello all,

Can I ask how VeryPC and the like offer warranty i.e. next business day with engineer to fix the problems, do they offer these type of services. I find sending off equipment to be repaired/looked at takes far too long from past experience. I do like the dell solution of NBD warranty and have had positive experience so far with them in regards to warranty.

Ash.

Novatech & Stone always offer us either an on-site spare machine or two, or on-site spare parts (PSU/RAM/SSD, the basic & common stuff) free of charge with the warranty, so we can do quick repairs or swap a machine in while the original is sent off for repair/has a part shipped in. We actually prefer that way of working, as no on-site engineer is ever going to be quicker with the repair than we are at walking down with a hot swap machine to get the user up & running again.

We use Viglen, misco and cpc for the bulk of our stuff.

Viglen have been very good at sorting problems and repairs. They do next day onsite - either an engineer, or just the part if we want to do it ourselves.

One of the other schools in our federation uses stone, and I think they are happy with them as well.

We've also been experimenting with some referb stuff from ICT Direct this year.
