Will wsus work on a server thats not a dc? We've had a new dc, so I thought I would utilise the old server and set it up with server 2003 but use it just as an additional workstation. I thought I would also use it as a wsus machine will this work? It's on the domain.

Yes it works just fine. As long as you're running Windows 2000 Server or Windows Server 2003 (even better) you're good to go.
