machin05 Posted March 24, 2015 Posted March 24, 2015 Hi all, I look after two sites, both use RM as our ISP. We have Smoothwall on one site, but just use RM safteynet at the other. Both sites, however, are having trouble playing YouTube videos. Pre-video adverts are working, but the actual video isn't. Anyone else having trouble, or is it just us? Cheers, Will
Shadow_Walker Posted March 24, 2015 Posted March 24, 2015 does it say "an error has occurred please try again later"?
Steve21 Posted March 24, 2015 Posted March 24, 2015 Access to youtube.com Incident Report for RM Internet & E-safety Investigating We have received reports that customers are unable to access youtube services even with permitted filtering rules. At present the issue only appears if you are using Internet Explorer. RM are investigating the cause of this issue as a high priority, but in the meantime if access is required, please use an alternative browser. Mar 24, 12:31 UTC Broke Steve
machin05 Posted March 24, 2015 Author Posted March 24, 2015 Seems to have kicked back into life now! - - - Updated - - - Broke Steve Was affecting Chrome and Firefox for us :/
Chris_ Posted March 24, 2015 Posted March 24, 2015 We've been affected since this morning. YouTube didn't work in Firefox or Chrome either, only received an update from RM around 12:30. Seems to be working again now. RM really need to get their act together if they're going to try and supply business class broadband at the price they're charging.
StephenHardy Posted March 24, 2015 Posted March 24, 2015 Force HTML5 worked on some for me about 9 months ago
