ESO has officially gone Buy-2-Play, I played it back in the beta and enjoyed it but didn't think it was worth the monthly subscription..

Needless to say now it's free I'm going to be investing some time in it!

Yes, I was in the beta testing for ESO as well but like you I didn't think that it as worth monthly subs and thought I'd wait till it went F2P. It's sadly disappointing for an Elder Scrolls game (it's totally lost the 'feel'), but as an MMO it seems OK.

Might be worth a look. I did a trial and got bored but the game might have improved. My armoured Khajit Paladin needs some exercise. :p

Just bought it on Amazon, was waiting for this, but couldn't remember when it went B2P. Figured I'd rather pay £24.99 than £49.99.. even more so when I've got enough Amazon Voucher credit to buy.

Might pick it up on PS4 later if a few people on my list get it on there, I know a few of my family members are tempted, be nice to get them back into some form of multiplayer.

Have they fixed a lot of the issues? i played on and off through Beta and launch, wasn't a massive fan despite loving the previous elder scrolls games.

Lag in PVP was horrible - Latency not graphical lag.

A lot of the PVE stuff was not very group friendly, Was leveling with a friend and we kept getting instanced away from each other.

Inventory management and crafting was bad, think due to the console release.

Class imbalance was pretty glaring at launch, especially for PVP based activities.

I did like a few aspects, crafting from bank mats was nice and i'm glad WoW copy and pasted that, and i liked the DAOC/Planetside style PVP map. The skill based dodging for tanks would have been nice if not for the latency issues.

Yeah it's adapting the same sort of model that Guild Wars 2 uses, buy the box and your good to go. Although whether they will charge for expansions/addon's/dlc feature packs - I would assume likely but have no idea (haven't followed the game since it launched).

PS4 version is down on Amazon as 9th June.

I do agree with some of the sentiment in here though, it seemed alright but wasn't a game changer for me so didn't keep playing it.

They seem to have changed/added quite a few things in this latest "Tamriel Unlimited" update though, I'm downloading all 31gb of it now. If it keeps me entertained for more than a few weeks it will be worth the 25 quid I spent on it..

Hmmm thought it'd be free totally. Got waaaaay too many bills >.< I guess it'd be fine if they aren't nagging your for microtransactions every second.

( @Arreks: Cool sig btw :) ).

From what I've seen there hasn't been anything game-breaking in the micro-transaction store, just cosmetic stuff really so as long as it stays that way I'm happy - Neverwinter is quite good for that too.

And ikr @CAM? to be fair as soon as I saw it I thought of you!

Same as - will wait for the PS4 version this time. Skyrim is still probably my all-time favourite PS3 game and I would have liked to see another episode on the PS4 as opposed to an MMO. Seems unlikely now though

Stopped playing it for the subscription thing, was in Beta and it looked OK, but so buggy at the release. Have they cleared up the issues?

Definitely worth playing now it's B2P, i don't have to feel like I'm not getting my subscriptions worth if i only play it a few hours a week.

i had it from release day last year, also was in the beta, and its more active again and there are alot of new things in the game like the justice system (MURDER ALL THE NPCS).

my fav part has to be the justice system now my new temp is rolling in the dead NPCs all the time now and my main is just questing to vet rank up.

I've been playing it non stop! I became a vampire at lvl 10 which is pretty cool considering the quest is lvl 38! ;) there are no crazy bugs like what I remember and it just feels.. nice. I never feel like rushing to reach endgame because you can tell that the devs really want you to play it like another ES game, exploring and enjoying everything you take in.

Would recommend, it's definitely worth that initial cost.

I played for a loooooooong time over the weekend, currently playing a level 13 Orc DragonKnight in the Dominion, good fun!

I'd be a higher level, but there's just so much to do, I spent hours just gathering crafting materials and making things for Writs.

I loaded up the launcher yesterday at around 6pm...its just finished doing all the downloads and updates (90GB of downloads all told)...better be worth it.

90GB? are you sure? I don't remember it being that huge.. I'm downloading GTAV atm which is 60GB and it's taking a hell of a lot longer than ESO did.
