tech_guy Posted March 16, 2015 Posted March 16, 2015 (edited) Last night I was searching for a how-to guide on Youtube for repairing a faulty car dashcam and came across this shocker of a compilation: I've seen these collections of Яussian dashcam/crashcam footage before but nothing so underwear-changing as this. Probably suitable for work. Only just. My brother-in-law who has visited and driven all over Яussia tells me it's because they drive too fast, don't use their mirrors and don't indicate; just expect other drivers to either stop or get out of the way. Generally, Russia is so corrupt and as a whole, short on intelligence (people are stupid, a person is intelligent type) that this is quite the norm in many cases. Dashcams everywhere to get around the legal side of things otherwise nothing gets done, lots of insurance fraud (people throwing themselves, usually quite comically, against bonnets), road rage, drinking and generally being 51 cards short of a full deck. This sentiment is shared by quite a lot of Russians too.

Alternately, in (I think) Africa, they'll sledgehammer your bonnet so your airbag deploys and whilst you're dazed, drag you out of your car and steal it. Some people have wired their airbags up to flamethrowers, instead. Which is pretty cool, actually. Yeah, Russian driving is terrible and most people tend to have dashcams because of this. Still, makes for some bizarre footage (and we got some great clips of that meteor, too!)

3s-gtech Posted March 16, 2015 Posted March 16, 2015 It looks like a non-flammable compressed gas blew out - possibly Nitrous Oxide. Why you'd fit nos to an old Lada is another matter, or why you would fit a purge system that blows your spare wheel and back seats out of the back window. It's obviously part of the 'scene' there.
