RLR Posted January 9, 2019 Posted January 9, 2019 Old thread but came top of a google search. Anyone know if The Sims Teacher app is available on chrome devices? Can't seem to find it but would have thought by now it would be available.
pubgrub277 Posted January 9, 2019 Posted January 9, 2019 no, they dropped android/chrome support all together. You'll just have to wait for SIMS 8 in about 2 years time when it goes cloud based

pubgrub277 Posted January 9, 2019 Posted January 9, 2019 HAHAHAHAHA!!!! I know, I'm being wildly optimistic. Probably two years to get it piloted in a number of schools. 2025 for a full role out and 2030 for a full feature set set like reporting and assessment etc....
bobsmith Posted January 9, 2019 Posted January 9, 2019 it works great on windows 10 Now we just have to find a reasonably priced windows 10 tablet.....
Arthur Posted January 9, 2019 Posted January 9, 2019 You'll just have to wait for SIMS 8 in about 22 years time when it goes cloud based ^ I fixed your typo. 1
matt40k Posted January 10, 2019 Posted January 10, 2019 Interesting, you think Capita will be around in 22 years?
apearson Posted January 16, 2019 Posted January 16, 2019 We currently have several staff using the teacher app on laptops and mobile devices. However, it offers so many features that I’m told it does not format very well on a phone sized screen. Our PE department would love to use it on a phone when they are offsite in order to quickly access emergency phone numbers etc but apparently it is virtually unusable because of the formatting. Is there any way within the app that you can choose what options to display, or maybe Capita could develop a ‘lite’ version for use on phones where only emergency contact details are displayed? We have discussed the possibility of them taking their phone and a tablet to events but it is not really practical. To get around this problem, we are also paying for Bromcom teacher Web folder which works perfectly on the phone but we would rather not pay for both!
willtech Posted January 16, 2019 Posted January 16, 2019 (edited) We use Edulink One from Overnet Data https://www.overnetdata.com/ They also have a demo https://www.edulinkone.com/#!/demo Got fed up with the teacher app from Capita lots of issues. Edited January 16, 2019 by willtech 1

Sounds as if you need to think the other way around. Switch to the supplier that has both MIS and Teacher App but both works well + you will have moved to cloud era - where you should be!
