hahahah.... what is with those roads?!

You desperately need more houses....

Are you being tot's cereal right now...!?!?! My roads are a revolution. You'll see... You'll all see!

Yeah I know I'm going to build a lot on the island opposite the main town and then build a highway bypass from that area to the industrial areas to ease traffic :)

I think my favourite part is where you have 4 big roads going into a tiny roundabout, it's a thing of beauty!

I thought triangles were a good idea... turns out not!

Because you know it's all about the circles, bout the circles no triangles.

Yeah it's np! Also that road which is a dead end, nobody on that road can ever leave, so it's sort of a black hole for your residents :(

So wish this would run on my Macbook but dont want to waste the money and have it really laggy. Although my desktop at work would easily run it... and it is Easter break....:nono:

Yeah there are reports this game won't play ball at all with Intel GFX chipsets on any OS. But if you are gaming you probably want a dedicated card anyway. It does run on Linux though. :)

My laptop turned up and to my surprise it had an NVIDIA GPU - win! Nothing fancy, but at least it might run!

So i have a major issue. It's frustrating. Halp.

That's my city normal, but when it comes to traffic.....

Now bare in mind, that the left side of the map is low residential. I CANNOT upgrade to high residential because it will buckle my highways and cloverleaf. Halp!

My Macbook does have the NVIDIA GeForce 320M not the intel card but still not happy to spend £20 and for it to be horrible to play, well not yet.

I made some suggestions here:

You want to try and keep intersections as simple as possible and as far from each other as possible. The blue line joining your highways is a ramp ferrying traffic from right to left as a lot of traffic seems to be people doing U turns.

Thanks, however, the central line at the top, are you suggesting connecting my 2 highways to a straight 6 lane road?

No it's a highway on ramp, traffic is only turning around in one direction so you need only put a highway on ramp between the two in the direction of the traffic which is turning around.

It's also worth keeping in mind that red on the traffic overlay doesn't necessarily mean congestion - just a highly used bit of road. It's best to have a look what the actual traffic is doing to see if it's actually causing jams.

@Sunnyknight: You have a three lane motorway being funnelled into a one lane offramp. It looks like the junction is overloaded as it is the only route from the North-East to the South-West (only route into your residential area actually!). Try adding more alternative routes to feed traffic from the North into your residential area.

Eventually you can expand (you need to do this!) and connect to another highway. Always remember, motorway traffic has to go somewhere and feed into a high capacity road. Then step down gradually. It looks like you have the right idea but need to add a second route to take pressure off that junction.

Also remember public transport. A Metro line will help loads!

*cries*

DO IT FOR ME CAM!

DO IT!

I CAN'T ABANDON THE GRID SYSTEM!

Metro... like subway? I tried buses, let's just say, 300 people using it out of 36k is nothing. :(

Will give subway a try now, if it doesn't work, teamviewer in and expand for me! lol

Start by just connecting the residential district to the northern district with a 6 lane road. Join it to one of the existing junctions in the residential district so it doesn't create another. Also turn that northern section into a full loop so traffic can flow freely round it. Eventually you might want to plan for the buildings north of your motorway to be demolished so you can expand further north and build an elevated route straight through it.

When I get home I will post mine, but it's a hacked together mess of districts and junctions That I have only just solved through trial and error and at least one broken junction because I can't expand the road without demolishing a freight line.
