Dell Vostro 2520 win 8.1, distorted image

Hi guys.

 

I have a vostro 2520 laptop that has a distorted/fuzzy screen. It does not always go distorted, sometimes the image is stable for hours. This only happened since the laptop has been upgraded from win 8 to Win 8.1. Previously on other laptops,same model(we have about 50 in the school) got the same issue and the only way around it was to put it back to Windows 8. The laptop is using Intel HD graphics 3000.

 

I have just updated the driver from Intel’s website to the latest but the problem is still there.

 

Any ideas?

Have you tried reducing the amount of acceleration on the graphics card?

Thanks. I'm trying to find the place where I can reduce it but when I go to the graphics card properties there is no troubleshooting tab. As I'm reading about it that is where I suppose to do it.
