Unifi 55 Projector

Hi

 

We have currently having trouble with an old Unifi 55 projector. I found an old thread with a similar issue.

 

Ideally I don't want to throw money at an old projector. Can anyone that has had a similar experience with this problem/board let me know what solution you ended up using?

We got a bracket that would the fit arm of the setup, and then purchased a sony projector that matched the throw. AVpartsmaster sell them.

I seem to have 3 UF55's that are on the way out (woo). What projector did you get paulellam?

I have just received a quotation from an AV company to put a new/mount in BENQ - MX819ST & BENQ-STMOUNT

 

Their cost for doing this and fitting it is £983 or I can repair the existing projector for £295.

 

They have also given me costings for a BENQ 65" LCD screen + Fitting for around £3,260.

 

I'm not entirely sure BENQ is the way to go though.

 

I'm also waiting on another quotation

 

What do you guys think?

We've been in the same situation with several Smart UF-45 projectors. First few we went with a retro fit mount kit which worked but wasn't exactly the most elegant solution.

 

The last one we went with a Hitachi CP-CX250 and a boom arm mount from Roche AV similar to the deal above, 5 year warranty plus a free lamp replacement. The lamp replacement is a voucher from Hitachi which can be redeemed directly from them, so not a compatible lamp.

 

We have a few more UF-45s still in use but will be going this route again when their time comes, much nicer than the retro kits I think.
