It's going to be just another soulless 80's re-make. I remember seeing the original in the cinema when i was a kid and people were actually getting up and cheering at the end of the movie, i've never seen it in a cinema since or in any other movie.

 

Paul Feig's attempts to claim it's going to be a hillarious comedy before a script has even been written was a huge red flag too. It's up to the audiences to judge whether it's actually funny or not. I think it's going to be a stinker.

When I saw Hitchcock people cheered, even though it was me, my girlfriend and an elderly couple as the only ones watching. It was me who cheered. In all fairness, I'm a Hitchcock fan

 

The other one people have cheered in is les miserable

I've give up all hope of Hollywood not remaking/rebooting my childhood favourite movies, I'll just sit here and try and pretend they don't exist

Considering Harold Ramis is no longer with us, there wasn't really much of a direction to go in other than a reboot for the new youth of today.
