scotyboy56 Posted January 21, 2015 Posted January 21, 2015 This is really starting to bug me as I have no idea how to fix it. When some teachers go to Google or other sites on there laptop the page just shifts down and has a massive white space at the top of the page, and also there google search gets messed up, by not being able to go back etc. I always thought this was an issue with flash, but I have updated flash and repaired it and everything but still nothing. I have attached a screenshot so you can see what I mean. Any ideas?
E_G_R2 Posted January 21, 2015 Posted January 21, 2015 I had something similar with and it was to do with SMART (I can see it lurking to the left of the screen shot) can't for the life of me remember what it was that we did What version are you on and what add ons are you using?

What a surprise, I hate SMART so much!! Product drivers 11.1.669.0 Notebook version 11.1.1209.0 Add ons think it's just SMART INK:mad: and the one for the keypad things response or something
Grey-gear Posted January 21, 2015 Posted January 21, 2015 (edited) @E_G_R2 is correct, I have had to deal with this and its that smart ink needs to be updated to the newest version 2.15.0 I think. For a temp fix you can go in to smart tools via the start menu and then smart ink tools and there is a button to turn smart ink off. Edited January 21, 2015 by Grey-gear 1
E_G_R2 Posted January 21, 2015 Posted January 21, 2015 Yes Smart Ink was the beast, I think we just un installed it from all the machines as no one was using it anyway, might as well paint the wall white rather than fork out for an IWB.
scotyboy56 Posted January 21, 2015 Author Posted January 21, 2015 Why do they insist on giving us Smart ink I hate it so much! - - - Updated - - - Thanks for the advice, shall go try it now and see if it works
SHimmer45 Posted January 21, 2015 Posted January 21, 2015 +1 on smart causing the problem, we run 11.4 here which appears to resolve the issue with smart ink...
localzuk Posted January 21, 2015 Posted January 21, 2015 We updated to the latest version, costing us thousands, because of this bug. People decided that Smart Ink was too useful to turn off.
E_G_R2 Posted January 21, 2015 Posted January 21, 2015 Apologies for a thread hijack but what is the current line with the Latest Smart Software, do I have to pay or can you update on a board that is relativly new (2 years). Asking this as we have a BENQ touch screen that dosn't like Version 12 and the installers recommend going to the latest version but am loath to pay.
Iain.Faulkner Posted January 21, 2015 Posted January 21, 2015 We upgraded to 11.4 which solved this issue but caused others (I can't think off the top of my head what happened)....we ended up buying their new software and haven't had problems since.
beany1 Posted January 21, 2015 Posted January 21, 2015 We had similar problems - we disabled Smart Ink as its horrible, cures a lot of problems.

If your board is over a year old, you'll need to buy a SMART Advantage subscription - they included a 1 year cover in new boards. Best bet is to speak to a SMART reseller like @VeryPC - they should be able to figure it out for you. 1
scotyboy56 Posted January 21, 2015 Author Posted January 21, 2015 Thanks that fixed it They probably put these little bugs in to start when they release a new version to force you to upgrade!
