Cache Posted January 20, 2015 Posted January 20, 2015 Hi all I've just put the full version of Papercut on our print server to trial it and I'm very impressed. One of the little things I like is the Environmental impact information that shows in the admin page - I can work out how to get various widgets for individual users impact, but wondered if there is a way I can just get the Organisational Impact to show in some way somewhere to start of with before getting more specific? Any advice would be appreciated!
fiza Posted January 20, 2015 Posted January 20, 2015 Doesn't that show on the dashboard? Also theres reports you can run.
Cache Posted January 20, 2015 Author Posted January 20, 2015 Sorry, should have been more clear - I want to get the Organisational Impact out of Papercut and display the whole school's impact on our intranet homepage. So far all I can find is the individual user's impact widgets for displaying.
DJ3Dog Posted February 3, 2015 Posted February 3, 2015 Under Reports "Executive Report" You can create an automated report theat will send that report directly to the marketing teams email (Or who ever control content on your intranet) monthly or weekly.
DJ3Dog Posted February 3, 2015 Posted February 3, 2015 I actually not only send marketing the report monthly but pushed the desktop widget out to win7 clients so users can track their own. This also has the link to the user web interface which is cool. I spent too much time re-designing that page only to find noone uses it......
Cache Posted February 4, 2015 Author Posted February 4, 2015 Yeah it's me who updates the intranet, so I'll look at doing some sort of report for it and manually adding it - was just trying to save the job.
MatthewL Posted February 4, 2015 Posted February 4, 2015 Sorry, should have been more clear - I want to get the Organisational Impact out of Papercut and display the whole school's impact on our intranet homepage. So far all I can find is the individual user's impact widgets for displaying. At present there is not an overall total for the organisation available as a widget type thing. I know a few people who have raised it to PaperCut so maybe worth dropping them a line and getting added to the list, a number of schools that I work in and out wanted to display it on screens they have around the school amongst other things.
DJ3Dog Posted February 4, 2015 Posted February 4, 2015 Another good idea would be to request a network forward for reports into a share. Then you could use a batch to pull the PDF and place it on a intranet page. Or better yet a SQL/PHP script that pulls the report straight from the DB..
jasonatpapercut Posted February 6, 2015 Posted February 6, 2015 Hi Cache, I think what you're looking for is the Environmental Dashboard as documented here: Environmental Dashboard / Windows 8.1 Live Tiles You can simply chuck the logged in username (of your intranet) on the end of the URL, e.g. http://papercut.your.org:9191/environment/dashboard/jason However, you're specifically after organisational wide information.. which is as easy as requesting "all" instead of "jason", e.g. http://papercut.your.org:9191/environment/dashboard/all Further to this, if you like a little json/ajax, then http://papercut.your.org:9191/rpc/api/web/print-stats.json should whet your appetite. If you need something more specific, please let us know. Cheers, Jason PaperCut Technical Support 2
Cache Posted February 7, 2015 Author Posted February 7, 2015 Thanks @jasonatpapercut, that'll do perfectly for the time being! Didn't realise it was as simple as using /all at the end. would be nice if there was a smaller compressed widget available like in the admin control panel or the Environmental Impact available per user in the login page detailed here Environmental Impact but the dashboard will be fine for my purposes at the moment!

Is that Widget part of the standard PaperCut, or, do you pay for it?
