I cant think of an easy way of doing it with my school and with 500+ to do I really don't want to be doing it manually e.g. come to me for password type thing. Thanks! PotNoodleTech Posted January 20, 2015 Posted January 20, 2015 Implement AD Sync / Single Sign on. IF it's your own network it should be faily straightforwards. I had to do it manually (& had to print out usernames and passwords as part of a 5 page idiots guide) as couldn't make global changes to LEA network.
timbo343 Posted January 20, 2015 Posted January 20, 2015 We don't use AD and SSO so we mail merged passwords and gave them out in form time. Each House came to an IT room where we gave them out. All machines in the room were logged on as a guest account to minimise log on times. Kids logged into their account and we were on hand to help out. The sheet was about 2 pages long and explained what they had to do. Even though it was in black and white in front of them, they struggled.

pete Posted January 20, 2015 Posted January 20, 2015 We also used dirsync so AD credentials (for selected OUs/groups*) could be used for Office365. *mainly to keep temp/exam/utility/whatever accounts out of O365.

Oh man, If I only did things the head was all for I'd still be running XP, 2000 server and office 98 because that's what her career started with. To answer the OP, with little slips of paper into everyone's pigeon holes/tutor folders created with a mail merge.

Innovation and the fact our email server always runs out of space when I'm on holiday so I have to come in and fix. It's getting a bit of a running joke now so with O365 that will all be fixed
