JATSO Posted January 9, 2015 Posted January 9, 2015 Hi, I have running on Windows 7 PC in our domain KMS Host for Windows 7 Professional and KMS Host for Office15 (2013). The problem I am having is that the my KMS Host for Office states when I start word or any other ms office 2013 product states that my Office 2013 is not activated, when I run slmgr.vbs dlv/ all it shows the count for Windows 7 and OFFICE15 rising and falling current status is: Windows 7 - current count 7 request received 10 Office15 - current count 10 requests received 142 I believe it all is working fine but why isn't the pc that I use as my KMS Host activating its own office 2013. Have I simply not made the received count yet? Thanks in anticipation.
Joanne Posted January 9, 2015 Posted January 9, 2015 I have to run a script to get mine to activate here for some reason. That forces it to contact KMS I believe. You have to open cmd as an administrator too. cd C:\Program Files (x86)\Microsoft Office\Office15 cscript ospp.vbs /act
3s-gtech Posted January 9, 2015 Posted January 9, 2015 VAMT 3.0 is your friend here, it allows management and diagnosis far easier. Stick it on the KMS server.
JATSO Posted January 9, 2015 Author Posted January 9, 2015 thanks tried the ospp.vbs /act but couldn't contact the KMS server.
JATSO Posted January 9, 2015 Author Posted January 9, 2015 Thanks Have VAMT installed again the as in previous post the KMS server cannot be found, which is odd as its on the same machine.!
Joanne Posted January 9, 2015 Posted January 9, 2015 Oooh interesting... I only have VAMT 2.0 installed...
sted Posted January 9, 2015 Posted January 9, 2015 i assume you installed the office 2013 kms activator on the pc?
JATSO Posted January 9, 2015 Author Posted January 9, 2015 If you mean the updates for Win 7 that MS points you to for activating Office2013 using Windows 7 yes I did. From this link: Prepare and set up the Office 2013 KMS host
3s-gtech Posted January 9, 2015 Posted January 9, 2015 (edited) Thanks Have VAMT installed again the as in previous post the KMS server cannot be found, which is odd as its on the same machine.! KMS creates a DNS entry which you need to check: domain.name/ _tcp / _VLMCS / KMS host FQDN on port 1688 Oooh interesting... I only have VAMT 2.0 installed... VAMT 3.0 blows it out of the water. Most of the annoyances of VAMT 2.0 are gone, with a few new minor ones in their place. Edited January 9, 2015 by 3s-gtech
Davit2005 Posted January 9, 2015 Posted January 9, 2015 Have you got multiple dns entries for the _VLMCS in your DNS. we had this because people by accident used the KMS host key on client machines this made activation problematic.
free780 Posted January 9, 2015 Posted January 9, 2015 I believe you need vamt 3 to support windows 8 and office 2013. Having to install SQL express is annoying. Bye bye memory.
