iPads; copy a web link from home screen

We use iPads, Trolley, Meraki MDM & Conflagurator, and for copying files, FileBrowser.

 

It seems with MDM, at least with Meraki, that you have no control of layout of Home Screens, or adding Apps to specific folders. With Conflagurator you can, but only if you backup and restore from one to all iPads. If we buy/get one App, or in this case just want to create a link to Purple Mash on Home screen, the backup restore process and losing all pupil data on restored iPads seems a poor way to go. I am having to paste, from FileBrowser Word Document saved on Win Server the address into Safari, save that to Home screen then press and hold to get to one of the several pages or folders. Very inefficient, has anyone worked out a better way?

Interesting thread... Unfortunately, there is no way to apply or organise iPad apps. Apple is apparently working on a new feature like in iTunes to see all the iPads in apple configurator and apply the folder organisation to all of them.

 

So far, to do so I created a master image that I pushed to all iPads. When I install new apps I have the joy to move the apps manually on all of them

If you are using meraki you can send a web link by setting up a profile with a WebClip to the url it will then appear on each iPad as an icon.You can use configurator to do this as well. Unfortunately there is no way to organise the apps other than restoring a backup which is a pain.
