Sanm2009 Posted December 11, 2014 Posted December 11, 2014 If I was to use OEM Win7 Pro licenses and don’t have volume licensing agreement for OS in place, how would I deploy Windows 7 across the network? Would the product keys have to be entered in the corresponding PC manually? Or is there way of getting a volume licensing key for the organisation?
sted Posted December 11, 2014 Posted December 11, 2014 you enter the keys manually as oem isnt really suitable for deployment (unless you are dell etc)
snagrat Posted December 11, 2014 Posted December 11, 2014 If you have the OEM media it is possible to copy the BIOS license files and the OEM key. Then you can use slmgr to import the files and activate the machine. Each machine will use the same key, not the one on the sticker. This only really works if all your machines came with Window 7 and are all the same make. I do this with Fujitsu machines time to time.
Arthur Posted December 11, 2014 Posted December 11, 2014 Volume licencing is the way to go IMO. You only need to buy a single volume license for Windows to give you reimaging rights for the rest of your PCs. http://www.aidanfinn.com/?p=14534
