mthomas08 Posted December 4, 2014 Posted December 4, 2014 Does anyone use this, if so what problems do you encounter if any? This has been a nightmare for us and we would like to know if we are the only School.
unixman_again Posted December 4, 2014 Posted December 4, 2014 You are not alone. The new version is pants, especially setting up student accounts.
Meldrew Posted December 4, 2014 Posted December 4, 2014 Thought the old version was bad, but this new one is just a massive nightmare. We've told support what we think, but they're going to do nothing to change it apparently. As far as teachers are concerned though to them its great, so we can't even persuade them not to buy it next year. :-( Meldrew
mthomas08 Posted December 4, 2014 Author Posted December 4, 2014 Maybe I need to be more specific, are you doing the Science sections of interactive content? Our problems are outside of administration and more general day to day usage.
Danp Posted December 4, 2014 Posted December 4, 2014 New one fails to load for us, randomly. Some of the videos do not work, we have been told recently it's while they are being migrated over from old version but that was 3 months ago and they still do not work.
mthomas08 Posted December 4, 2014 Author Posted December 4, 2014 New one fails to load for us, randomly. Some of the videos do not work, we have been told recently it's while they are being migrated over from old version but that was 3 months ago and they still do not work. It's not just us then. We have this exact issue but it also hits other content as well - like you randomly. You can try the same piece of content at any point of the day (at work/home) and it can fail to load. Some times a refresh fixes the problem. This can be during peak times and when no one is on site and again at home too. Doesn't matter what device you use as well.
E_G_R2 Posted December 4, 2014 Posted December 4, 2014 Nightmare. Setting up users is a PITA Content fails to play ^^
Techykev Posted December 5, 2014 Posted December 5, 2014 Same here, contents esp videos are hit & miss. See the filtering thread: http://www.edugeek.net/forums/internet-related-filtering-firewall/57814-smoothwall-kerboodle.html Have found it to be much better using Chrome rather than IE and advise all our staff having issues to use Chrome. 1
mthomas08 Posted December 5, 2014 Author Posted December 5, 2014 Thanks, that post had a few websites we didn't allow which didn't come to us from kerboodle. We advise users to switch from Chrome to IE depending on what doesn't work. For us Chrome has problems and we advise using IE but we say use Chrome/Firefox on other things. We have tested with all 3 browsers and the issues are consistently there we also have tried different versions.
