We have just had new 70" Active panel displays put in our school. We seem to have an issue where the cursor \ pen lags by at least 1/10th of a second behind where the teacher is writing. We did not have this issue with the interactive whiteboards before and it is very noticeable and causing issue when writing on the board.

Is this normal? Is there anything we can do to speed things up?

PC has 4 gigs of ram and a dual core processor running 64 windows 7

What processor though? Plenty of dual core atoms about that can barely run Notepad without struggling! Run a 65" activpanel on a quad core Atom machine (eeepc) and that does have noticable latency, although usable.

Do you run any screen monitoring software such as ABTutor?

Mirror drivers can cause performance issues on lower end hardware so it may be worth having a look in device manager.

This seems to be normal for promethean screens. Got them in 3x schools I look after and they all do it....

Mine don't - we have them ranging from 6 months to 3 years old

Interesting... I've got 26x of them across 3x schools, running a range of software versions and a wide range of hardware from Core 2 duo to i5, XP and Windows 7, every single one of them does this.... It's not huge, but definitely noticeable

Pentium g630 2.7GHz 8 gigs of ram. I tried it on a Laptop with nothing apart from the active software installed and it's just as bad. No mirroring software is installed.

The pen point as you drag your finger across the screen is lagging about 5cm behind. Handwriting is problematic and teachers are complaining. This is most troublesome considering how much these screens cost. :-/

Assume it's the same when not using activstudio/primary? (i.e. paint)

Nope, it just seems to be very laggy.

It also seems way less precise than the old boards. At £3k I am pretty disappointed so far :-/

We are still having this problem. This is across two sites on the latest software. The issue can be seen in the picture fairly clearly. It even occurred on the Hugh Symons trainers laptop.

We are also having an issue with two pages turning over instead of one when clicked.

Any ideas?
