Office365 and Google Apps for Edu on same domain?

Were piloting Office365 and like some of the features of it (sharepoint), but like the you tube abilities there with google apps.. Does anyone know if it is possible to use both from the same domain name linked to the same AD? Thus users wouldn't need to remember more than one username and password. I'm not interested in using two email systems just picking the best from both.

 

Or do we need to setup a different domain for google apps?

In currently looking at doing this too but I'm struggling to get a domain i have in O365 verified in GAFE. this might just be my domain host though as the staff domain worked fine, just not the student one...

I had our domain verified for both and both sync tools setup.

Not that I can recall I'm afraid domain verification worked fine but I've been left nearly a year now so that's about all I can say I'm afraid.

We have both set up office 365 has been running for about a year now and google apps for around a month. You will need to get your user to change their password in ad before GAPS can sync the passwords.

I am not sure if this meets your requirements, but if you already have everything setup with Azure Active Directory for Office 365 then you can also enable Single-Sign On to Google Apps "http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/azure/dn308591.aspx" and so this will mean you only have to manage to Sync to Azure AD and then you users can just click on the App Access Panel to get Access to Google Services.

If you do not already have an Azure Subscription (PAY AND GO) and do not wish to use it for anything else for the time being, you may wish to activate the $0 subscription which will expose the Active Directory Extension in the Azure Management Portal without you having to sign up for a PAY AND GO Subscription, and in-turn enter Credit Card Details.
