Yes, youid pulls the school AD into a secure cloud environment, but it has a live link to the school which allows kids to reset their own passwords using their phone internet for example.

I dont want to say much more because it may be misconstrued as advertising, i know im only answering your questions, but just in case ;)

When you say encrypted in AD, I assume you mean 'AD in the cloud'?

The way the personal apps work currently is that same as others we store the details encrypted with in the YouID system in the cloud. The login to YouID itself works differently.

Over auto provision if it is a federate app then depending on the app it will auto proviso the users.

Surley this is nothing to do with Impero's software, though, this is the whole idea of federated / SSO-capable websites?

If developing own app then we recommend shibboleth but in the future maybe a better way of doing

Right-oh, makes sense. Are you planning to support Clever's API in the future? They don't seem to be operating in the UK at the moment, might be an opportunity to beat them to it.

Shibboleth general does that as designed that way some other federated methords tend to be interesting. As for clever will put it through and see what people say.

Over Clever are you asking are we going to do something similar or are we going to link into Clever. If asking going to link into Clever probably not as we operate in the USA as well and they are a direct competitor.

We use RM Unify at our school, we buy into several cloud-based resources and before we had RM Unify I think we would have been in the same situation, we had several usernames and password with all different resources which was MANIC!!!!

When we got RM Unify its syncs with our Active Directory and syncs all the users to the online portal, It also connects to cloud based resources and will auto create the login and create new ones when a new resource is bought or new user. With the single sign on service for the cloud based resources and office 365 makes logging in so much easier and quicker with only one password to use!!, which makes using all this 1000x easier!

It now takes only seconds for Staff and Pupils to log into any cloud based resources, email, and learning platform using RM Unify, and fully customizable so you put your own school logo, background and your own tiles/apps.

Best online user management tool I have ever used!!!!

This works on any device seamlessly from netbooks to iPads even mobile phones.

and it is always developing and getting better. below is what our standard pupil Launchpad looks like...

Are you either planning something similar, or would you directly implement Clever's API, i.e. any application that works with Clever would also work with your system?

I may be misunderstanding but clever is a direct competitor to youid, they offer the exact same i believe but with the additional youid plugin (optional) it will support any cloud app at all, even none federated ones. I believe the clever api allows vendors to pull stuff from common (usa) student information systems but youid links with AD...

I recently had a demo of YouID and while it is a fantastic product, I couldn't justify spending the quoted amount on it. Even with the revised pricing (after several conversations) it was 39% more than RM unify for school of 1000 pupils (no I haven't signed up for Unify)

Believe me I'm a big Impero fan, but the pricing on YouID , for me was a bit steep, especially with restricting budgets within schools. I'm sure others will disagree.. just my opinion

Yes - and I'm wondering if anyone is aiming to make a UK-centric version of Clever, complete with their API support and integration with things like SIMS, before Clever themselves get around to it.

We have product called YouID Entity which can link MIS systems and Active Directory (with more development on the way) at moment we have mainly sold it enterprise level for managed services provider and local authorties who have number of school and mis systems.

RM Unify will also integrate with SIMS and CMIS out of the box. Or, at least it will do publicly incredibly soon. It's in trial at the moment.
