Norphy Posted November 12, 2014 Posted November 12, 2014 Be fair. The bug has been there for a long time but it's not as if Microsoft have been sitting on it for the last 19 years. It got reported to them in May and they've been working on the patch since then.

GREED Posted November 12, 2014 Posted November 12, 2014 I love how it is an Emergency patch... If I waited 19 years for an Emergency service (mind you, this is Portsmouth!) I've not read how it was discovered, if it was not exploited.
JRowley Posted November 12, 2014 Posted November 12, 2014 (edited) I believe a security team were just looking at the various secure protocols built upon SSL and found it, a fair few have been found this way. Though I think it would be more suitable to say you waited 19 years for the emergency services to deal with a fire that no one knew was blazing. Edited November 12, 2014 by JRowley
