Kemp / ISA replacement

Hello,

Looking for an ISA replacement system and Kemp has come up. Anyone got experiences of this they can share? Failing that I could use some recommendations of other ISA replacements however it has to be just that as not interested in one of these solutions which do 100 things and I only want one.

When we had proxies we used ISA for some things and SQUID proxy for other.

Whats the "1" thing you want/need?

authentication against AD (including LDAP). We don't host much so just SLG, Moodle and remote access. Just want a nice login page which pushes users to their requested resource if they have a correct username and password.

Unless I'm looking at the wrong webpage, it seems to me that Kemp just offer load balancers, not application publishing portals.

So it's a module on the load balancer then. Interesting.

 

That said, if you're just using it for application publishing the rest of the functionality of the thing seems to be going to waste!

That's the one. Just wonder if anyone has experience of them or another system which just offers authentication. Much as I like to look of the boxes which do all, I just want this one problem plugged for now.

Have you looked at the Web Application Proxy that comes with Server 2012 R2? If it's just application publishing that you're after, this may be a good option. I've used it to publish a couple of sites which use IIS authentication and it works nicely for those. Edited November 11, 2014 by Norphy

I did see that but there was a reason we couldn't use it. Can not remember what it was exactly but it did come up. Thanks though.
