Anyone got any experience they would care to share about AlfieCloud please ?

It seems that my school has bought into it, first I heard was when I received a 'ticket' from their support team!

We find that the sync with SIMS fails fro time to time and the sync software a bit flakey and their support seem a bit dim too, for example, when the sync failed I tried a few bits and bobs including clicking the check for updates button and was proudly told that there were no new updates. After raising a ticket with support and sending a log file, I was told the software was out of date. They never did manage to tell me why the check for updates button lied to me.

At one point, the sync didn't seem to update their cloud, so I again raised a ticket it turned out that the schools filtering had blocked the upload as students name triggered the filtering (I haven't dared lookup 'ebony' on urban dictionary!), I realised this meant they were uploading all our student data unencrypted, which admittedly they fixed ASAP, but was a bit worrying.

Thanks @sparkeh and @Meldrew Much as I feared. I was completely out of the loop on the buy in. Seems our IT Lead decided we needed it late yesterday afternoon and it was approved and ordered toot sweet. I'd never heard of it and seen nothing on edugeek about it so was very sceptical when I received the first communication from the company.

I still know nothing about AlfieCloud so would really appreciate any info on it.

To be frank there isn't that much to tell.

*Online assessment software

*Sync program populates website with teacher and pupil info

*Teachers login to website and create tests and assign them to pupils

*Pupils login and take tests online

*Teachers get reports on the pupils performance

*Seems to work well (no complaints since initial setup)

Use it here and seems fine. Funny enough I had a tech support call a couple of days ago and found them fast and able. From my experience I would recommend.
