I'm just getting into it. I build a lot of RC planes but want to get into wood turning after seeing lots of nice stuff at a craft show.

Nice :) I am in the process of carving a chopping board for a friend (carving his name, and his mrs name, and the date of their wedding). :) Been doing it slowly and steadily at work.

Any pics of how its going? curios now.

One finished board :-) This was all done by hand using hand wood carving tools. Splintered my hands a fair amount of time, but worth it considering it is was my first carving project (not my first woodworking project). Edited by featured_spectre

I have an idea for a wood work project for home. My current coffee table is looking a bit crap, so its a good excuse to do make one.

My idea is a retro gaming coffee. The centre of the table will have hard glass with a LCD screen underneath ( probably from a old laptop)

wired into an arcade video converter board and into that probably a NES or a SNES.

I carved myself a nice knife (capable of spreading butter!!!) and a nice spoon! However 3 attempts at a fork I haven't tried in best part of half a year! :(

My dad used to be a carpenter, a long time ago. But since my mum started her own refurbished reloved furniture business (painting old stuff and fixing it) my dad has been making some really good furniture out of reclaimed timber in his spare time. I did to RM at school as I used to love Woodworking, but have since gone of it as it requires effort. But I did make an awesome Garden Recliner for my coursework :) Edited by scotyboy56

Forks are quite hard, so I've stuck with spoons and sporks. Not yet done a knife, unless you include taking an old blade and making a handle for it.

I've also made a tungsten carbide knife sharpener, takes 3 strokes to make a knife shaving sharp. lol
