Bit of a strange one. I noticed that one of our Lenovo M92 AIO workstations had stopped showing as active in Impero and despite being switched on wasn't showing as available on the network. Going to it I found that it refused to log on to the domain displaying a can't find a log on server message. I logged on as a local Admin and found that despite everything being AOK in the device manager and the proxy setting being in place the Internet wasn't available nor was I able to access the domain. It was seeing the domain controller though.

Next step, I removed the PC from the domain and placed it into a local workgroup. Removed it from AD restarted it then tried to rejoin it to the domain again. No joy. I've had similar happen to about three workstations now and have ended up having to reimage them.

Any thoughts on this please?

I had this and disabled Startup Repair as @Galway said. Use:

if exist c:\suroff.txt goto end
bcdedit /set {default} recoveryenabled No
bcdedit /set {default} bootstatuspolicy ignoreallfailures
copy \\file-server\apps\startuprepair\suroff.txt "c:\suroff.txt"

:end

Yep, disable start repair, its more trouble than it's worth. Not only can it drop PCs off the domain but there is also a way students can get access to the c drive using a loophole in the startup repair process. If they then use the utilman trick, they could make themselves a local admin and do what they like. There have been a few threads on here about it recently.
