Hi all,

Having a bit of a problem with our Microlib / MLS! My initial feeling is something is up with the borrowers database.

When we try to edit or add a user in borrowers, the window pops up as it should and hangs for about 10 secs, then displays the following error:

mls.jpg

If we have any users in the intake, we can edit (and import mass users from CSV!)

Other than not being able to edit borrowers / add individual borrowers functionality seems fine.

Any thoughts would be gratefully received, not sure what to do!

Do you have a support contract? If you phone them they might have an SQL script for you to run that will sort it

Hi,

What error message do you get if you run Microlib from the server and try to insert a new borrower?

If you phone MLS they will ask you to do the above as it will display exactly what the issue is, try it and post up another screenshot :)

Only ones that begin with 9 that I can see are:

9A, 9S, 9ARTS, 9T, 9R

Edit - and just the Year Group 9

I am no sql expert but it appears to me as though you have managed to get some illegal characters into a field on your database. Did you import your new students via csv? did the problems start to happen after the import? If you did import the data do you still have the csv, if so have a look at the data, I am guessing that there is something in (probably) the barcode field that is not an integer.

Did you check the recycle bin as-well? Do you have any duplicate tutor groups?

It may be an idea to phone MLS and have them take a look, they may ask you to run Fiddler at the point you get the error to show exactly what is failing.

We're unsure how long it's been going on - our old Librarian never said anything about it after this years Y7 intake, it's only now we have a new Librarian and they've mentioned it that we know about it!
