Cache Posted October 18, 2014 Posted October 18, 2014 Hi all We're going to be testing Lexia next half term and I'm curious as to how others use Lexia. Is it something which you install and configure or do you just point people in the direction of the website? If it's something you install, how do you get around the profile deployment issue within Lexia Core5? The only way I can think of at the moment is either writing a small vbscript or using GPP to copy on login. All advice and opinions greatly recieved.
sted Posted October 18, 2014 Posted October 18, 2014 the lexia ive used i msi out with an mst file to set the school code as detailed on their site. as far as im aware the website is just for admin. never heard of lexia core 1
TechSupp Posted October 18, 2014 Posted October 18, 2014 Last time I spoke to them a web based version was in development, that was earlier on this year.
plexer Posted October 18, 2014 Posted October 18, 2014 The web version is available and I'd go for that. Ben 1
Cache Posted October 19, 2014 Author Posted October 19, 2014 I was just going by what was in the Subscription section of the Webportal which seems to list 2 Lexia products, but maybe it's just one. Will double check with the member of staff on Monday and see what we are actually testing.

Hi @Cache What method did you use for deploying the Profile folder to AppData? I am installing the software now in preparation for moving over! the instructions from lexia of "deploy to your other computers" is less than helpful. Dave
vyperz Posted February 12, 2015 Posted February 12, 2015 We've just got the web version, so will be using that - zero deployment!
Edu-IT Posted February 12, 2015 Posted February 12, 2015 The web version is called Lexia Strategies, and they're moving everyone over to it this year. When I say web version, it does appear to be Google Chrome only?
timbo343 Posted February 12, 2015 Posted February 12, 2015 We are using lexia but we are using the program rather than the web version. Students can use the web version at home.
vyperz Posted February 12, 2015 Posted February 12, 2015 We have been using the program, but now the web is available its accessible on any pc or laptop.
Reverend_Dan Posted February 12, 2015 Posted February 12, 2015 We use the install version of strategies, as said above its simple enough to deploy the msi, i use a script to copy over a login.ini to which includes our customer code and proxy details. The chrome app is just the same thing but packaged as a chrome app native exe. Thats why it only works in chrome and thats why it takes an age to load. We give out the msi and customer code to children who want continue it at home.
vyperz Posted February 12, 2015 Posted February 12, 2015 We just have a URL that works anywhere on any browser
Cache Posted February 12, 2015 Author Posted February 12, 2015 Turned out we didn't need core5, just Strategies. I ended up deploying the program out using GPO.
