nicholab Posted October 15, 2014 Posted October 15, 2014 Hi quick question do you use Impero keyword detection with out Policy Central and has it been good enough?
jamin100 Posted October 15, 2014 Posted October 15, 2014 For me impero is much better as it doesn't grind the machines or network to a standstill The keyword capture is just as good and impero does a lot more
northeast_technician Posted October 15, 2014 Posted October 15, 2014 Policy central are sending out v6 which is much easier on system performance
jamin100 Posted October 15, 2014 Posted October 15, 2014 Too little to late though They've been upgrading to version xxxxx every year which is always meant to be better on system performance - never is though
alan-d Posted October 16, 2014 Posted October 16, 2014 Policy Central is being updated but only the Client. The console is still the clunky, unfriendly version. I've had a quick look at Impero in another school and the information available is far superior in that it is live and more detailed. Forensic software are working on an MSi to update to Version 6 which is meant to automate the following; The new combo installer MSi will undertake the following tasks; Check if valid Operating System Checks if PCE Version 5 is installed. If it is then V5 is removed. Checks to see if Java 7 Update 67 (minimum) is installed. If not installs it (either 32-bit or 64-bit) Checks to see if Microsoft Visual C++ Redistributable 2013 x86 is installed. If not installs it. Checks to see if Microsoft Visual C++ Redistributable 2013 x64 is installed (64-bit only). If not installs it. Checks to see if Microsoft .NET Framework 4.5.1 (minimum) is installed. If not installs it. Installs Policy Central V6.2.3.14 Client. Upon a successful install a restart is then required to initiate the PCE Client. As Impero also offers other functions it is now a serious contender for the future.
northeast_technician Posted October 17, 2014 Posted October 17, 2014 Console update follows on next year when it goes to the cloud
Badzeye Posted October 17, 2014 Posted October 17, 2014 Does the keyword detection also run on the ipad client? has anyone tried it out yet?
northeast_technician Posted October 17, 2014 Posted October 17, 2014 iPad client isn't out yet it's a web browser app so I am told
Bste93 Posted December 3, 2014 Posted December 3, 2014 We use Policy Central here at the moment, but are considering moving to Impero in the new financial year. From the conversation I had on the phone with Impero it seems they have developed an app which allows it to be managed by the console.
