Two Projectors on a wall how can you merge them into one image?

is there any easy way of when using Two Projectors on a wall how can you merge them into one image? they are using HDMI a cable.

Do you mean you just want a dual monitor set up, with projectors? Or you want to overlay the images and merge them into one? The latter sounds bonkers, but I'm not certain what you're after.

 

If it's the former: the same way you'd set up two monitors. May need a cheap GPU (AMD 5450, nVidia 210) to get you the appropriate outputs, and may need at least one projector with a digital input (DVI, HDMI); alternatively make sure the GPU you get has a DVI-I port, not just DVI-D, and you can get a DVI-VGA cable/dongle.

 

Then it's just a case of being really, really careful with your physical alignment.

if they support displayport version no idea you can use passthrough and have one very widescreen screen over 2 screens if you see what I mean (so effectively have a resolution of 1024 * 768 on each monitor but the system sees it as 1 monitor with 2048x768 res (at least I think that's how it works) you can adapt displayport into hdmi but no idea if you maintain the passthrough bit I suspect you can get a box of tricks that does it though. Other than that just 2 hdmi outs and set pc to extended mode with windows + P

If you are trying to merge (edge-blend) then there is no EASY way to do it. There are hard ways, and these inevitably involve buying projectors designed for it. Think Barco, and £ker-ching!

If you mean you want to have your two displays treated as one big display by Windows, so videos and so on play "full screen" accross two displays, Ultramon might be what you're looking for:

As Andrew_C points out, that's not the same thing as proper edge-blended projected displays, although you can see how well you get on just lining the edges of each projected display up by hand. I've seen some Mac-only software that seems to do a good job of working with multiple standard projectors to create a single projected display, I just can't remember the name of it.

If you are after edge blending then this is pretty easy to achieve.

tvOne offer some good products a basic one is

 

1T-C2-760 - no pc interface

or a slightly more advanced one is C2-2450A - pc interface

these units are £1000 to £1500 ish and you would need two of them and you would also need a distribution amp to split the signal to both units

or you could go for one C2-8120 which is about £4000.

To echo above, there is some Mac only, as i know am man that uses his MacPro laptop with 3 DH projectors to project videos onto buildings, the software maps windows etc so you get one big flawless display.

I'll try and get hold of him and find out what it's called.
