BassTech Posted October 9, 2014 Posted October 9, 2014 Is there an alternative for MIT App Inventor? We can't get this working on our computers like many others, and our head of ICT is going to SLT moaning about this, which is a joke! Is there any other software that we could look at using that works on a network and isn't ludicrously difficult to get running?
NikChillin Posted October 17, 2014 Posted October 17, 2014 we are currently using ibuild apps which runs from the web, it's ok for the younger ones.
boomish Posted November 10, 2014 Posted November 10, 2014 we are currently using ibuild apps which runs from the web, it's ok for the younger ones. Have you a link for that? I found iBuildApp - Create Android and iPhone App, Free, No Coding Required & Home - iBuildApps but both seem to be business apps builders, I need a really good alternative for 10-11 year olds. The teacher is struggling with MIT app inventor. Appreciate any help or advice.
newpersn Posted November 10, 2014 Posted November 10, 2014 Appinventer works for use. Need to use chrome and make sure the AIStarter starts when the pupils log in. (i know very little and the pupils teach me! )
mukz Posted November 11, 2014 Posted November 11, 2014 its working for us here, we deploy it through GPO
BassTech Posted November 11, 2014 Author Posted November 11, 2014 Got it working now Followed the guide here: http://www.edugeek.net/forums/how-do-you-do/139452-app-inventor-2-without-compromising-security-i-think.html and had to make a few CC4-specific changes. All works nicely now (until they update it that is)
