Davit2005 Posted October 6, 2014 Posted October 6, 2014 I can't seem to find log files, are the location of log files customizable, if so where could I find the settings to point where they might be located. I'm looking in C:\Windows\Logs\DISM but I only find a file created a few days ago. I recently upgraded to MDT 2013 but my Windows 7 Images are still building fine. At the end of Install Operating System Applying the deployment fails with FAILURE ( 5627 )
Davit2005 Posted October 6, 2014 Author Posted October 6, 2014 (edited) Well I might of found the answer in a previous thread. http://www.edugeek.net/forums/o-s-deployment/127715-deploying-windows-8-1-vanilla.html I'm using the updated Deployment boot image but not the build boot image, hoping this is the cure Edited October 6, 2014 by Davit2005

Davit2005 Posted October 6, 2014 Author Posted October 6, 2014 did you update waik to the the windows 8.1 version when you updated mdt? Just forgot to upgrade the Build Image to the version supporting Windows 8.1 Upgrade was a complete nightmare, I'm only doing this because just got a whole bunch of XPS11's needing to be built.

Davit2005 Posted October 8, 2014 Author Posted October 8, 2014 They seem OK, comparable price. No keyboard to lose either. The only other tablets we have are the SamSung ActivTabs, no comparison. The ones we got support the USB-Ethernet Dongle for MDT/PXE boot for ease of deployment (the StarTech pt. USB21000S2, WinPE drivers from dell). PXE May depend on BIOS version from what I seen on the NET but these work fine.
