MacBook Stolen - iPads Locked via Apple Configurator

Our school had a MacBook stolen sometime last year. This MacBook was used to configure all the iPads using Apple Configurator. I've since bought a new MacBook Pro, but every time I try to connect it to iTunes I get the message, This iPad is supervised by another computer and cannot be used with this computer. The profiles on the iPad are locked and cannot be removed. Is there anyway to reconfigure the iPad for the new MacBook or will I have wipe all of the iPads clean and start again?

Think you might have to wipe them and start again.

You will have to start again , there is a tick box 'Allow devices to connect to other Macs' in Apple Configurator i think ticking this will stop this issue in future should it get nicked or damaged.

Yeah, I've come across this before in my previous role, but unfortunately these iPads were set up by my predecessors who didn't choose to allow this.
