https://www.copytrans.net/copytransheic/ Just found this ; it does the trick but not really something you want to be deploying to all of your PC's? & it costs !

HEIC is the file format name Apple has chosen for the new HEIF standard. HEIF stands for High Efficiency Image Format, and, as the name suggests, is a more streamlined way to store image files. Using advanced, modern compression methods it allows digital photographs to be created in smaller files sizes, all while retaining higher image quality than its JPEG alternative. The issue currently is that Window does NOT support his new format. Has anybody managed to push out a setting so we don't have to disable this setting on each iPad? You can do this in settings by doing thew following ; Settings > Camera > Formats > Switch to 'Most Compatible' Update: Apple has a JPEG converter built into iOS 11 photo transferring as well. If you go to Settingsand then Photos, make sure the “Transfer to Mac or PC” option is set to Automatic. This should make your iPhone photos transfer to your computer in a compatible format (e.g. JPEG). We’ve reached out to Apple to see why this conversion doesn’t seem to be working properly with certain programs for certain people (e.g. Lightroom importing).

'Something is wrong' when none domain admins log in.
D0liver replied to D0liver's topic in Home Access Plus+
The fix worked for me - But just a heads up - I allowed local login rights to our DC and it messed some things up. So i would suggest anyone to use a Virtual Web server instead of IIS on your DC -
Get this error when i log in as somebody without Domain Admin rights. All i want them to access is some shared areas? Could do with some help with this - can't find anything in the error logs either?

I would imagine they would need to authenticate as at our school the iPads just come up as 'mobile device' I'm pretty sure if you manage the iPads properly you can set the authenticate details however each iPad would need a log in? Why do you want to know the name of the iPad?
-
Because it would be open for them constantly. The staff use our current lan messenger so that's where the idea is from. I was thinking of making a little vb.net programme to test.
-
Will have a look at that but I do want to test a client based one.
-
Is there any client based helpdesk software? Staff won't use the online crm so maybe a client that sits on their taskbar that they can report issues with? If not I'm guessing this could be easy to make myself? D

And I'm pretty sure we got free activ sound bars with ours - see if you're able to get them?
-
We use HDMI so we don't need to run an audio cable which works well. I would buy the 3.5mm leads anyway though.

Just an idea...print them as qr codes with all your info you need?

We have two systems running in different parts of the building for staff sign in and out. For visitors it prints badges. It works well when we need to track visitors and print fire registers etc.. We don't have it linked with sims at the moment though. The tech support is really good...any problems I've had they've remoted on and fixed straight away. If it's a hardware problem they come onsite. If you have any questions please do ask and I'll try to answer.😊

Our Xerox colorqube printers cant print four jpegs to a page without us manually re-sizing them on the server? Is there a tool out there than can auto re-size all photos that get placed into a certain area? Xerox technicians say its because our cameras take photos that are too high in resolution...however we cant print anything four to a page unless its been shrunk!

anyway to remove drivers or find the drivers that are listed in Device Manager?

Paper cut and follow me printing for Special schools

We are also stuck on trying to share the 'virtual printer' from our Mac..we can add a real printer and print fine but we can't share a virtual printer from the mac..Do the iPads print from the user mobile for you? -
We use activinspire...is there a way to remove drivers from device manager? If it only had the driver to use if should work?
-
So currently our new windows 8 image has broken all of the Promethean boards (10 years old) The quick fix is going to device manager and selecting to update the COM port to the 2011 driver and the boards works again. When the USB is unplugged it happens again...any ideas?

Sounds like you'll have to wipe the iPads clean...Unless you contact apple?

Blue Hoody for me! Thanks boys. -
+1 for papercut. Works flawless and saves a lot of money. We deploy one printer as a 'virtual' printer which staff all print to. Staff can then release their printing at whichever photocopier they arrive at. Cuts down on alot of wasted paper and wax! We currently use 6..soon to be 7 xerox wax photocopiers. All managed by euro digital.
