Secondary school in Herts requires a CRB cleared engineer to help manage their RM CC3 network, whiteboards, desktops and server for an interim period. You will have good desktop experience within a school, a knowledge of server including 2000 and 2003 and SIMS knowledge would be helpful. Immediate start for someone with a clean CRB (you must have the paperwork)

Could go permanent long term

thats the hourly rate not the permanent salary

you'd have to apply for the permanent role which maxes out at @£19K

I'm really looking for someone who is between jobs and doesn't mind helping out for a while, if they then fancy the perm role then all very good

CRB cleared? A CRB check is only valid for the employer or organisation that gets the check done. It is NOT transferable.

I was told it isn't even transferable within the organisation. I think it's job specific. - i needed another CRB check when i took an additional extended schools teaching job. I also needed a CRB when I transferred from one school to another within the same authority (employer)

I don't think their CRB from another employer is any use to you - you/your customer school will have to provide their own, since you're paying them. Or am I mistaken?

When I moved from my previous school to my current one I phoned up the CRB people and they took the details of my new school and for want of a better word 'updated' my CRB.

I didn't think you needed a new one when you moved jobs or changed roles. I was under the impression that they only needed amending to reflect any changes.

I thought they were valid for 3 months, after which time a new employeer has to source a new one. However, i was under the impression that within an authourity it was irrelevant as the legal employeer didnt change.

3 months, no; 3 years, yes. 5 if it is a standard disclosure, but I suspect that we are all on enhanced ones.

OK re CRB's you are quite right they are non-transferrable, or have no "portability", however most clients of ours will accept a candidate if they have been cleared relatively recently and on the proviso that we have submitted a new check to the CRB. If I have checked a contractor and am moving them from client to client I need to make the client is aware and re-process the check at least once a year

Obviously if you are applying for a permanent job the client will do the check after the offer has gone out but with last minute contracts you do a risk assessment
