Hi guys,

I'm having a strange problem with Outlook 2010. When a user logs into outlook, they are prompted with a windows security message box. They enter their email address, password and click enter. When they click enter, it processes the credentials and the same windows security message box comes back up again.

I have tried three different accounts and they are having the same problem. I have re-installed outlook, moved the PC into the IT Office, gave it an static IP address and still having the same problem.

Has anyone had this issue with outlook before?

Thanks

Has the user changed their password? happened before to me, took a while for exchange to sync.

Also it does seem to be a known issue SP1 seems to fix it according to a few forums I searched when having the issue.

RichB, The user did change their password two day's ago. I've installed SP1, and restarted the machine and I'm still getting the same issue.

I forgot to mention, we use Outlook Web App, but the user wants to still use Outlook for her emails.

MordyT, The password does work in OWA and I have tried to setup a new outlook profile but the Windows Security box keeps coming up.

Do you go through a proxy to get to the exchange server. Does it support windows integrated authentication?

Check cred manager and appdata/local/Microsoft/windows/credentials also in the roaming . Make sure its empty.

We had the same thing happen, replace the email address with domain\user, tick the "remember" box, and you should never see it on that machine for that user.

@MortyT I've created a new profile and cleared the credentials manager. Still getting the windows security popup.

@free780 We don't use a proxy to get to the exchange server.

@bald_pig I tried your way today, click the "remember" box, restarted machine and logged in again with the same user and I still get the windows secuirty popup.

Thanks everyone that has helped me to try and fixed this. It's bugging me because I haven't seen this type of issue before with outlook.
