Xibo - Powerpoint keeps opening but only want it to play

Hello,

 

Any help would be really greatful. We have Xibo 1.6.2 and 5 client machines. Thare are all connected working fine. We have office 2013 installed on the clients and server. My problem is that powerpoint will play for a while and then decides to stop and actually open up powerpoint. Does anyone know any fixes to stop this and just play?

thanks for getting back to me so quick, i know there is for office 2007 and 2010 but cant see anything for 2013? do you know where it is please on the net?

Scroll to the bottom section, it has tips for getting powerpoint to work correctly. I was having the same problem until I followed this guide.

can i also ask was it office 2013 that you were using that you found the fix for? seems to be only 2007 and 210 fix?

I was using 2010 myself. Im not sure about 2013.

The set of registry entires which comprise the fix for 2010 also work for 2013 (tested and confirmed).

 

Save as a .reg file and run.

I would strongly suggest forgetting about powerpoint, even with all the fixes it's horrid and makes clients crawl. Suggest exporting from within powerpoint to a video and using that in Xibo instead, which also gives you the bonus of working with linux clients, less hardware, less licensing to worry about etc

I was just about to mention this myself. We had the issue with PowerPoint doing this, so I just started converting them to videos. Not looked back once since, it's a much better experience!
