LeMarchand Posted July 30, 2014 Posted July 30, 2014 If, after reading this topic, someone takes a fancy to the Kain series most of the titles (but not the first ) are in the Humble store for £1.24 at the moment.
ICTDirect_Dave Posted July 30, 2014 Posted July 30, 2014 really? Marvellous! Save me breaking out my PSx emulator.
X-13 Posted July 30, 2014 Posted July 30, 2014 Save me breaking out my PSx emulator. I'm sure you meant "get the PS1 out of storage and connect it up". That damn autocorrect.
X-13 Posted July 30, 2014 Posted July 30, 2014 I'd never type Ps1 Mines the original PSx AKA the PS1. You're thinking of the smaller redesign... The PSOne. Also, I forgot it was called that. So Microsoft stole Xbox One from Sony.
ICTDirect_Dave Posted July 30, 2014 Posted July 30, 2014 haha! This is an irk of mine! It wasn't the PS1 it was PSx or Playstationn (the original - and to date best). I refuse to accept a retconned '1' into the name.
d0pefish Posted July 31, 2014 Posted July 31, 2014 There's always one person ruins my day I just got a text, apparently today is my turn to ruin your day. Didn't realise we were doing this on a rota basis now
ICTDirect_Dave Posted July 31, 2014 Posted July 31, 2014 Ha! It's been a pretty good start so far. Unless you've planted something horrible in the new bed I just had delivered?
sonofsanta Posted September 12, 2014 Posted September 12, 2014 Bit of a necro... cos I just finished Alan Wake on PC, and thought it was ruddy marvellous. It's never really a challenge, and the combat is essentially rinse/repeat the whole way; but the setting is fantastic, and the storyline and characters are as close as you'll ever get to Stephen King: The Game. Usually on sale for a few quid when the Steam sale rolls around, or on Humble or GOG. Took me about 16 hours to do the main story, got another 2-4 to go with the two DLC packs (that finish the story off properly, from what I can tell), and I reckon it's well worth the pennies if you've ever enjoyed a horror story, or just fancy something different from Angry Men With Guns In The Desert/In Space/In Front Of You Opening All The Doors. So yeah: Alan Wake. Thoroughly enjoyable. Also: To The Moon, wot I mentioned before, is on sale @ gog.com this weekend for $2.99.
Tesla Posted September 12, 2014 Posted September 12, 2014 I see your Final Fantasies and I raise you Skies of Arcadia God rest the Dreamcast. Oh, and The Witcher games. 1 is a bit creaky gameplay wise now, but the setting and the world are incredible. Witcher 3 is the only game I'm looking forward to right now, tbh. Only just seen this thread @sonofsanta ! I am midway through a play through of skies of arcadia on the DC, probably my favorite/most played game ever. 1
LeMarchand Posted September 12, 2014 Posted September 12, 2014 Also: To The Moon, wot I mentioned before, is on sale @ gog.com this weekend for $2.99. Not played that one yet (got it when I saw it come up cheap somewhere a couple of weeks back and will be blaming you if I wasted £2 or whatever I paid ). However, just to maintain the true "HotUKDeals" atmosphere I have to say: cold as not on Steam .
Joanne Posted September 12, 2014 Posted September 12, 2014 Nobody said Metal Gear Solid???? Number 1 of course, then 2 was cool too. Kinda lost my interest after that. Still gonna be buying the new one though (y)
Tesla Posted September 12, 2014 Posted September 12, 2014 sure i read somewhere that the last one they released could be completed within 15 minutes... the story mode anyway..
Joanne Posted September 12, 2014 Posted September 12, 2014 MGS? 15 mins? No way! You must be replying to someone else!
MrMat Posted September 12, 2014 Posted September 12, 2014 Nobody said Metal Gear Solid???? Number 1 of course, then 2 was cool too. Kinda lost my interest after that. Still gonna be buying the new one though (y) While I adore the whole MGS series, the story itself has kinda turned into a convoluted mess. I still love them but generally have no idea what's going on.
Garacesh Posted September 12, 2014 Posted September 12, 2014 Nobody said Metal Gear Solid???? Number 1 of course, then 2 was cool too. Kinda lost my interest after that. Still gonna be buying the new one though (y) Snake: "How much do you weigh?" Otacon: "About 135" Snake: "Hmm.. It would take at least 5 guys to go over the limit.." Otacon: ".. SNAKE! THE GUYS THAT STOLE MY STEALTH SUITS ARE IN THERE WITH YOU!!!" Me: "Well.. s:censored:t. " (Also, if you go in that list with the infa-reds on, you don't see them until after the codec call. Which bugged me. Could've been a cool little Easter Egg there.)
X-13 Posted September 12, 2014 Posted September 12, 2014 MGS? 15 mins? No way! You must be replying to someone else! MGS: Ground Zeroes can be done insanely quick. It's a full-retail-price demo.
Joanne Posted September 12, 2014 Posted September 12, 2014 SAME!! The bit that got me from the first one was that wolf woman... kinda sad when you executed her. Was that the end of disc 1 or something? Can't fully remember.
Garacesh Posted September 12, 2014 Posted September 12, 2014 Yeah.. They could have totally had the guys doing the macarena or something until after the codec call. Because nobody is going to go in there with the IR goggles on that didn't know what was about to happen. Grey Fox was badass, though
Joanne Posted September 12, 2014 Posted September 12, 2014 MGS: Ground Zeroes can be done insanely quick. It's a full-retail-price demo. Is that 4? I remember at the end sitting there for 2 hours just watching the TV, was like a bloody boring as hell film!
MrMat Posted September 12, 2014 Posted September 12, 2014 Snake: "How much do you weigh?" Otacon: "About 135" Snake: "Hmm.. It would take at least 5 guys to go over the limit.." Otacon: ".. SNAKE! Which bugged me. Could've been a cool little Easter Egg there.) The best Easter Egg was in Snake Eater when you face The End (the old sniper guy). Save the game, turn off your Ps2, turn it back on again, change the system date forward a few years, boot up the game, cutscene saying The end died of old age!
Tesla Posted September 12, 2014 Posted September 12, 2014 MGS? 15 mins? No way! You must be replying to someone else! You can "finish" Metal Gear Solid 5: Ground Zeroes in 10 minutes - GameSpot
Joanne Posted September 12, 2014 Posted September 12, 2014 in MGS 1 if you ran in the toilets after Meryl really quickly she would be topless... I did that by accident.
