Hi All

Anyone have any recommendations for multi port usb chargers (the more ports the better) that we can use for charging & configuring our iPads (25 per class).

Thanks

I may be mistaken (wouldn't be the first time!) but it looks to me that the charger linked above is just a charger and nothing else. It doesn't act as a USB hub too so you wouldn't be able to configure your iPads and charge them at the same time. Assuming you're using Configurator anyway.

That would be perfect, however you're right Norphy, i'd need it to act as a hub too so I could use it with Configurator. I know you can buy trolleys that do this, but we already have the trolleys, I just wanted a quick way to configure in future, rather than pulling all plugs out etc...

Are you using full sized iPads or iPad minis? An iPad mini will happily charge from a 5W USB port meaning any powered USB hub (assuming it can provide 5W per port) will be suitable. Full sized ones would be trickier, you'd be able to configure them but not charge them as they need 10W or 12W chargers to charge.

Take a look at the Cambrionix products. I'm led to believe that their products find their way into a number of the laptop / tablet charging cabinets and trolleys. They have a range of charging and sync-station products with or you can buy the barebones electronics if you fancy putting together a housing yourself. Seems like really good kit - not cheap, but a lot less than the cabinets and trolleys on the market.

The website doesn't have prices, but they got back to me very quickly with a quote and will sell direct if you ask.
