Dogsbody23 Posted July 8, 2014 Posted July 8, 2014 Hi I have a problem with the Ricoh Multifunction Printer in the school I work at. The problem is that the Defaults Properties from the drivers are not propagating down to the clients at all, the client settings have been stuck in a3 and letter for a few weeks now. No matter what I do I cant get the drivers on the client machines do pick up the default settings on the server drivers. Anyone run into this before and knows how to fix ? Thanks Dogs
teejay Posted July 8, 2014 Posted July 8, 2014 Check your driver versions on your server and your client PC's have exactly the same version number. 1
Dogsbody23 Posted July 8, 2014 Author Posted July 8, 2014 The clients get the drivers from the server, can they still be different versions in this case?
teejay Posted July 8, 2014 Posted July 8, 2014 Yes, usually a problem if the server is 64-bit and the client 32-bit, but I've also seen it where the drivers fail to update of the client.
Michael Posted July 8, 2014 Posted July 8, 2014 Delete the printer, re-create it and allocate a different share name. 1
CAWJames Posted July 14, 2014 Posted July 14, 2014 Check your 32bit and 64bit drivers, I agree. With our Ricohs, I make sure I have one of each type for each model. Then I put them through the driver editor to add pin code pop-ups, default to B&W double sided. Then I add them to 2008R2 with the 64bit and explicity choose the 32bit I adjusted. Then I deploy them with AD. As long as I follow each one methodically, and make sure I have each driver ready and don't let it auto download, haven't had a problem with 9 MPC's James
gds64 Posted July 15, 2014 Posted July 15, 2014 On the server, within the Ricoh driver, check that Printing Defaults and Printing Preferences are both set for A4.
