BGFL EES Agreement ran out of MAK for windows 7

Just giving you all a heads up for those on the BGFL EES agreement all 7000 activation keys have been used up!

I've logged a call with LInk2ICT,

 

when you try activating your windows 7 get an error code 0xC004C020

"The activation server reported that the Multiple Activation Key has exceeded its limit."

I always knew this was a bad idea - how will they know which school is exceeding their allocation?

 

It should be a MAK per school, not a MAK for everyone.

7000 *MAK* keys? surely at this scale it would be KMS....

When I last came across this problem at 4000 activations, I decided to move to a KMS solution. It works perfectly now activating Windows 7, Windows 8 and Office 2010 automatically without me having to enter any serial key or click activate. Its all done in the background.

Just giving you another update. Its just been given 3000 more spaces its now 7000/10000.

My thinking too! Its bonkers to have 10k MAK key activations.

We're moving to KMS in school next week and we'll only have ~350 machines!

It is true they give all schools who sub through them exactly the same keys.

 

I'm amazed it's taken this long to run out. What is worse is there is no traceability either. I have them from when I worked for a time at a Link2ICT EES school, I could be unscrupulous and use those MAK keys to activate machines for friends and there is no way to trace it as it could have been anyone who has a L2ICT EES account. It's also not just the techies, by default L2ICT set the enquiry@ email account as the administrator so the Office Manager/Receptionist could have access too!
