ful56_uk Posted July 1, 2014 Posted July 1, 2014 Hi We seem to have an issue where logging in take about 30 seconds externally and internally We use single sign on internally which works fine but takes about 30 seconds to produce the first page which is email with live tile to the local exchange. Is this normal and is there away of fine why the initial login takes longer.

ful56_uk Posted July 1, 2014 Author Posted July 1, 2014 Iis server has 8gb ram 2008r2 4 processors is virtual on sad disks. Hap is the only thing on this server. It has it's own dns record under our sub domain internal

Did some testing this morning and found that if I disable the live tiles for email count and calendar restores login times to pretty much instant. These tiles are working fine and display the correct information about the logged in users calendar events and unread email fine. Just slow to login.

nickbro Posted July 3, 2014 Posted July 3, 2014 When the user logs in the system has to get a full list of the users roles this can take some time. It is then cached so subsequent requests are quick. Try going to /hap/kerberos.aspx?returnurl=/ instead of /hap/login.aspx?returnurl=/ login.aspx has to check the DNS entries to see if you are internal or not which can take a moment to complete as well.

ful56_uk Posted July 3, 2014 Author Posted July 3, 2014 (edited) Yes, well i followed in the video. and the popup appears in hap tell me i have ive also check the folder on the server and confirm the kerberos.aspx is there in IE set as home page 404 error this is the return url https://hap.domainname.com/hap/,/hap/ i entered this https://hap.domainname.com/hap/kerberos.aspx?returnurl=/hap/ past in the address again on the same tab that had the 404 error logins fine with my users quick past in new tab on same ie session logins as hap user ive double checked to make sure my home page is set to the correct url Edited July 3, 2014 by ful56_uk
nickbro Posted July 3, 2014 Posted July 3, 2014 You shouldn't be getting logged in with the HAP user, it should log in with the user account if it's been set up correctly, if it hasn't then you have a kerberos issue on the server which isn't logging the user in. Is the user using IE? You should get to the home page and have be able to see this
nickbro Posted July 3, 2014 Posted July 3, 2014 Attached is a dll which improves the login page speeds when using kerberos, I've found it now takes 2 seconds to login and load the homepage, where as it was taking up to 10 seconds.HAP.Web.zip

It's only using those URLs you said to use I was seeing this errors with the hap user

ful56_uk Posted September 2, 2014 Author Posted September 2, 2014 Hi Question, when logging into HAP does it read all of the users AD groups before allowing the user to login? Still have staff experience slow login after they put in there ad username and password then hit login
